At first we thought he was going to love his saucer thingy...but that has proven to be about a 5-10 min. activity. He gets in it and can't reach the toys that are attached to it (but really really wants to!!), when he figures this out he screams in frustration! We are thankful Johnny Jump Up has proven to be an enjoyable and lengthy activity.

Oh the wisdom...
Laura and Johanna came over last week for breakfast and they're those moms that just exude wisdom and love and are totally unaware of it. I casually ask questions, taking careful mental note of their thoughtful replies. I taught their girls at the preschool I worked at and can't believe the ways they've blessed and cared for my family! They are so lovely to me...
Stylin' for the Downtown Hub service...
We've been attending the Arvada Vineyard for six years now. When we first arrived, our community was around 50 people strong. This year we've grown to a little over 500. Since we first arrived in Colorado there has been talk about starting a downtown Hub (an extention of what we do in Arvada in the city of Denver), We have been eagerly anticipating this with several others for some time and it's finally arrived! On May 17th we had our first service! It was incredible...our family is very excited to be apart of all that God is doing in the city of Denver!

some memories.
Lately I've been remembering the strangest things...I'm slightly encouraged about this (I have real fear that most of my childhood is forgotten) yet oddly disturbed by these...
memory #1. I once danced in front of my high school to the song "Eye of the Tiger."
memory #2. When I was 10 yrs old I was asked to watch 5 babies in an upstairs bedroom for a short time, I came up with an idea to put them all on a very tall bed (I thought we'd be cozy up there together). As I began placing them on the bed, I watched in horror as they fell off like dominos, then lied to their parents when they came upstairs to find their children in tears!
memory #3. I got a hamster stuck in a glass jar and pulled it out by it's tail, as the children I was babysitting for, cried in horror.
memory #4. My brother got his new bike stolen on his 7th birthday (???) by two kids. One said, "Come here, I have to tell you a funny joke..." (Jay ran over, eagerly) while the other kid sped away on his shiny new red bike. not my memory, but still a memory.
memory#5. I loved bubble gum when I was little (still do) and I used to eat it, store it in my cheeks at night, fall asleep, only to wake up with gooey gum in my long brown hair! Mom grounded me from chewing gum for one whole year! After the year was up, I kept a jar under my bed with all my used gum because I liked it's colors.

Mom's group, the day Guthrie rolled over.
A couple weeks ago at Mom's group, we were sitting around in a circle chatting and Guthrie and some other babies were in the middle on blankets. I put him on his tummy (something we do all the time) and he rolled right over. We were so shocked!

Mother's Day
The Moby Wrap.
I love the idea of having your baby wrapped all snug to you in slingy thingy. The trouble is, it's kinda hard to put on and I think if Guthrie could talk he may tell me he doesn't enjoy it so much.

Jen's baby shower
I have two Jen's in my life and they are both pregnant, due one the same day, having boys AND had showers on the same day! This is my Jen from Colorado...
Little G thang.
Guthrie LOVES his saucer thingy. We had it in the basement for ages and Bobby suggested that we give it a shot. Judging from the pictures, it almost looks as though this is an age appropriate toy, but I can assure, it is much too big for him!
Bobby lowered it so that his big toe barely touches the bottom.
Vaccination Day
"The Photo Shoot"
Once upon a time, I had the great idea to do my own photo shoot of Guthrie, complete with the white sheet background and all! It turned out to be a bad idea. A. Because I don't know what I'm doing and B. because he decided to pee half way through the shoot...

skyler visits
Aside from having family far away, I also have great friends that live all over the world now. My friend Skyler came to visit and meet Guthrie recently. She had an art show in Denver and was able to spend the night with me and catch up. We made a big breakfast and drank mamosa's in the morning. I loved our time together.

My pets.
Since having Guthrie, I've discovered something new about myself...I really don't enjoy my pets. I guess, I've just found them to be a lot less entertaining. They also do unexpected things like run and pounce and meow (loudly)...here Jack looks like he's planning an attack of Guthrie, don't you think?
